Oregon ArtsWatch Recaps Julian Perkins ‘Messiah’ Performance in Final Entry in Three-Part Article Series

Oregon ArtsWatch recently published their recap of Portland Baroque Orchestra’s 2024 performance of Handel’s Messiah, which was conducted by Julian Perkins. This concludes their three-part series of articles on the production, the first two of which were interviews with Perkins discussing different aspects of his take on this famous baroque oratorio. In this final article, writer Daryl Browne provides his thoughts on the performance itself, going into great detail on how he thinks the vocalists and instrumentalists handled the complex music theory at play.
