His “fresh and unforced” performance “also benefited from the energy and deftness of Nicholas McGegan [who] wrestled the smallish orchestra into a taut, crisp ensemble” that also performed Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 and orchestrated lieder featuring members of the Aspen Opera Theatre and Vocal Arts program.
