Nicholas McGegan ‘In sync’ with Maxim Vengerov at Aspen

Vengerov’s debut was in Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto. His “fresh and unforced” performance “also benefited from the energy and deftness of Nicholas McGegan [who] wrestled the smallish orchestra into a taut, crisp ensemble” that also performed Schubert’s Symphony No. 6 and orchestrated lieder featuring members of the Aspen Opera Theatre and Vocal Arts program.
