Patrick Quigley Talks to The Washington Post About World Premiere of Edmond DéDé’s ‘Morgiane’

 
 

Patrick Quigley was recently interviewed by Michael Andor Brodeur of the Washington Post about Opera Lafeyette and OperaCréole’s upcoming performance of Morgiane, the “long-lost” opera by Edmond Dédé. The four-act opera, written by DéDé in 1887, has never actually been performed before, making this the official world premiere for this work by this legendary Black composer from New Orleans, 124 years after his death.
