Opera at Artpark Announces Gil Rose as Conductor-in-Residence

Gil Rose has taken on the role of Conductor-in-Residence with Opera at Artpark.

Rose begins his charge in Opera at Artpark’s 50th season. With the help of La Fura dels Baus, a Barcelona-based performance troupe, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, and over 220 performers, Rose will lead Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana.” This production will take place on July 29.

Last summer, Rose led a concert featuring the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra with soprano Danielle Talamantes mezzo-soprano Janna Baty, tenor Dominick Chenes, and baritone Michael Chioldi. Rose is a seasoned conductor of both opera and symphonic works. He has led performances at Tanglewood, the Matsumoto Festival of Japan, New York City Opera, Juilliard, and many more.
