Douglas Williams Praised for Haydn Performance in Grant Park Music Festival

Bass-baritone Douglass Williams was lauded for his “deep sonority and patriarchal gravitas” by Chicago Classical Review staff writer Lawrence A. Johnson for his role in Haydn’s Creation at the finale of the Grant Park Music Festival. While there were some “sonic distractions” including helicopters and technical issues, Johnson made sure to to mention that the ensemble “rose above the din to deliver a spirited and quite wonderfully sung performance”.
