Meg Bragle to Perform With Tempesta Di Mare in Philadelphia

 
 

On Thursday, May 14th, mezzo-soprano Meg Bragle will be a featured vocalist in Tempesta di Mare’s production of Francis Hopkinson’s America Independent, or The Temple of Minerva which is widely considered to be the first American oratorio. Featuring words from Hopkinson set to music by a mixture of composers including Handel, Michael and Arne, the oratorio first premiered on December 11, 1781, and hasn’t been been performed in full on American soil in the modern era.
