According to a new review from Slipped Disc, mezzo-soprano Mary Phillips gave a “commanding” performance as The Baroness in Heartbeat Opera’s New York premiere of their production of Samuel Barber’s Vanessa. The review also praised the “remarkable visual accompaniment” of the stage production, which previously had a successful run at last year’s Williamstown Theatre Festival.
