Aspen Music Festival Publishes New Nic McGegan Essay About Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos

In advance of “A Baroque Evening with Nicholas McGegan” next week, Aspen Music Festival has published a new essay by conductor Nicholas McGegan about Bach’s Brandenburg Concertos. “No single book of music had ever displayed such originality, variety, and brilliance,” McGegan writes about the works, in a piece that covers everything from the music theory at play, to the history of the physical manuscripts of the pieces.
