Nola Richardson Finds “Divine Bliss” In New Handel Performance
Soprano Nola Richardson delivered “triumph in tragedy” as she performed alongside bass-baritone Douglas Ray Williams in Ars Lyrica Houston’s recent production of Handel’s Theodora. According to Sherry Cheng of Arts and Culture Texas,“Richardson’s bright silvery tone sailed through the air like the skimming silver doves of her aria “O that I on wings could rise.” In her three duets, Richardson was always attuned to her partner, creating a rich palette of vocal colors through even the most difficult leaps in register.” Click the link below to learn more, or head to this link to purchase a video recording of the performance.
