Performers Leave The Audience Gasping In New Review Of Spoleto Featuring Conductor Patrick Quigley

 
 

The audience for the Spoleto Festival USA presentation of Dido and Aeneas was “engaged by art right from the start” according to a new review from The Post and Courier of the American debut of this special “circus opera.” The review praised the dancer/acrobats impressive physical feats, as well as the “relatively lively tempo” that conductor Patrick Dupre Quigley brought to the music, which features modern interpretations of the original opera by Henry Purcell.
